The game reveals that Immortan Joe appointed Scrotus to be the leader of Gas Town, with him and his own band of War Boys controlling the area after The Citadel won control over it.
Although George Miller originally intended for theMad Maxgame to be canonical, it currently is considered non-canon, meaning that this Scrotus explanation may not count toward the story ofMad Max: Fury Road. Assuming that it does, however, this means that Scrotus' performance in the 40-Day Wasteland War most likely impressed Immortan Joe, leading to his promotion to the leader of Gas Town in theworld ofFuriosa: A Mad Max Saga.
