Eddie Brock and Venom find themselves fugitives inThe Last Dance, on the run from human symbiote hunters - including Chiwetel Ejiofor’s character - and extraterrestrial villains alike, meaning a fight between Venom and Spider-Man would feel all too rushed.

However, Spider-Man popping up in Venom’s upcoming sequel would be a huge draw for audiences, so Sony would perhaps benefit from including this huge detail in its marketing forThe Last Dance. Instead, Spider-Man seemingly not showing up inThe Last Dancefurther proves the problem with Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, asthe franchise focused on Spider-Man-related characters from Marvel Comics hasn’t actually debuted the titular wall-crawler himself.
Venom’s cameo inSpider-Man: No Way Homewould have been the perfect jumping-off point to set up a battle between Spider-Man and the symbiote.
