What The Venom: The Last Dance Trailer Reveals About Tom Hardy’s Last SSU Project

AsVenom: The Last Dancewill be the final moviefor Hardy, the finale is clearly leaning into Klyntar as the third and final obstacle for the titular character. The trailer introduces numerous symbiote having arrived on Earth, likely because they are trying to get the Venom symbiote back to their planet. However, this is where Chiwetel Ejiofor and Juno Temple - who is revealed to be playing a character named Dr. Payne - get in the way because they want to keep the existence of symbiotes a secret.

While it was clear from the start thatVenom: The Last Dancewould take place directly afterthe ending toSpider-Man: No Way Home, the sequel may have just messed with Tom Holland’sSpider-Man 4. The footage shows the piece of the symbiote being left behind on Earth-616 getting captured by Ejiofor’s character, meaning that there is no way for the black suit storyline to get explored inSpider-Man 4. Although it does seemingly confirm that whoever Ejiofor is playing inVenom: The Last Dancehas found a way to travel between worlds.

A surprise addition toVenom: The Last Danceis the introduction of Rhys Ifans, who played Dr. Curt Connors, a.k.a. The Lizard, inThe Amazing Spider-Manuniverse, as he can be seen briefly in the trailer. Whether or not he is playing a healed Curt or a completely new character remains to be seen, but this is definitely intriguing, especially afterSpider-Man: No Way Home. With the first look forVenom: The Last Dancefinally unveiled to the world, time will tell what else Sony Pictures will reveal about the film as it gets closer to its theatrical release this fall.
