Johnathan “Jono” Shillingford is an architect-turned-cheffrom Dominica who brings his uplifting spirit to the yacht’s kitchen. Jono can be seen dancing while cooking and is happy to give Aesha a twerking lesson in the kitchen. His lighthearted approach to cooking, balanced with his impressive skills, makes Jono a refreshing addition to the cast.
The crew of the Mustique faced its first predicament when the arrival of the provisions was delayed.Jono was forced to think on his feet, improvising the guests’ requested surf-and-turf meal by replacing lobster with crab. He cited his architectural training as the reason behind his grace under pressure. Deckhand Gael Keeps Up With The Men
She Defies Stereotypes And Challenges Expectations
Gael Cameron is a deckhandon the Mustique. Originally from Australia, Gael introduced herself to the male deckhands by telling them, “I’ll still give you a run for your money.” She started her career as a steward but was drawn to the deckhand position due to her love of the outdoors. Although she had only been a deckhand for five months beforeBelow Deck Medseason 9,Gael’s ease at working alongside the men proves her impressive confidence. She even joined the male deckhands for a pre-charter workout on the deck.
Gael is confident enough in her work ethic and doesn’t feel intimidated by the guys on her team.

Gael explained that growing up with an older brother helped her defy expectations about femininity. Her mother thought women should follow stereotypes and be “soft and nice and pretty,” while her father saw her as an equal to her brother.Gael learned she was just as capable as menand brought that energy to the Mustique, making her an exciting addition to the crew as she impresses the male deckhands.
Steward Bri Struggles To Stay Afloat
Her Sheltered Upbringing Causes Difficulty With Everyday Tasks
Sabrina “Bri” Muller is the third stewon board.Bri expressed a lack of confidence early onand was relieved when Ellie was named second steward rather than her. She had a sheltered upbringing in South Africa, which may be the root of her struggle with housekeeping duties aboard the ship.Bri noted that her supportive parents allowed her to avoid grown-up responsibilities. While she was willing to follow instructions and learn, Bri stumbled to find her groove during the first charter.
Bri got herself into trouble when she was assigned the guests’ laundry. She spent hours pressing their clothes, leaving the wealthy influencers in their cabins wearing only robes as they awaited their luggage. Bri cited having grown up with a maid as the source of her difficulty. Aesha and Ellie tiptoed around the issue, afraid that confrontation would send Bri crumbling. With a seemingly simple task causing her great stress,it will be interesting to see whether Bri is resilient enough for the demands of the charter.
