The Clone’s Redemption Story Is One Of Star Wars' Best
Crosshair
One of five mutant clones created by the Kaminoan scientist Nala Se, Crosshair is a gifted marksman whose skills are almost preternatural in nature. He was the only member of Clone Force 99 to be influenced by the clones' inhibitor chip, but still chose to remain with the Empire for a time even after he’d had the chip removed. Crosshair is clearly on a path of redemption, however, one that will lead him back to his brothers.
Regardless of what accolades Baker earns for his role of Crosshair and the rest of Clone Force 99, this story will always be a standout in theStar Warsuniverse.Star Warshas often attempted many different redemption stories, and some have certainly landed more than others. Crosshair’s, however, is hard-earned, spanning over the course of the animated series' three seasons and culminating in the beauty of the show’s 50-minute finale.

Baker’s performance as Crosshair is what really helps to sell this redemption.
What makes Crosshair’s redemption even better is the wayBaker is able to evoke the character’s genuine remorse and regret for the actions he’s seeking redemption from. Much of this is facilitated through both his relationship withOmegaand his brother, Hunter, who he clearly still looks to for guidance and approval - often begrudgingly so. Omega is the one who makes him see the better parts of himself, and when Hunter clocks that too, he and Wrecker both do their best to support Crosshair and welcome him back into their family.

Baker’s performance as Crosshair is what really helps to sell this redemption, as does the incredible writing that has blossomed over the course of the series. While the highly rated season 2 episode “The Outpost” opened the door for this story, season 3 sees it through, and it’s wonderful to know that Baker could get his due recognition for it. No matter what happens when the official nominations come out, it’s extremely thrilling to know that Baker and his hard work inThe Bad Batchare at least being highlighted in this way.
