Netflix’s Moves The Release Date Up
Though the premiere date for the second half of the sophomore season was previously announced, the latest news confirms thatNetflix has movedThat ’90s Showseason 2 part 2 up. Originally set to premiere in October, season 2 part 2 has been moved up the schedule by several months and isnow set to arrive on Thursday, June 17, 2025. No reason has been given for the change, but Netflix revealed the news on its officialInstagramaccount in a video featuring the cast “passing the phone” to each other before Kurtwood Smith makes the announcement.

Following the industry-wide shutdown caused by the 2023 Hollywood strikes, Netflix and various other streamers have taken to splitting their seasons in half. This is presumably to allow the show to get back on the air as quickly as possible with work continuing on the second half while the first half airs. With that in mind, Netflix announced the release dates for both halves ofThat ’90s Showseason 2, withpart 2 scheduled to drop on the streamer on Thursday, June 13, 2025.

Though season 2 part 1 is only the first half of the season,the final episode was as shocking as any season finale. After a house party goes off without a hitch, newcomer Sonny (Kevin Smith) smashes through the wall of the Forman home in his car. This will undoubtedly have huge consequences for Leia, especially if Red and Kitty find out about the party. Speaking of Red and Kitty, Red’s heart-attack scare inspired them to take their trip to Paris, but last second thoughts might keep the couple grounded after all.
On the home front,several relationships will be tested in the second half of season 2, especially the on-and-off love affair between Nate and Nikki. Though they swore to stop their romantic flings, it’s clear that they can’t resist one another, and it will have consequences going forward. On the other hand, Leia and Jay’s relationship survived the drama ofThat ’90s Showseason 2 part 1, but part 2 could easily throw a new wrench in their happily-ever-after story.
