Jay Nakamura is caught running through the jungles of Gamorra after Amanda Waller’s army takes over in the preview forAbsolute Power: Ground Zero#1 by Nicole Maines, Mark Waid, and Skylar Patridge. WithJay Nakamura’s mother, the president of Gamorra, having been assassinated, Jay would possibly be able to step into her role. Not wanting that,Waller has sent the Suicide Squad after Superman Jon Kent’s boyfriend.

WhileJay’s powers of intangibility might make it seem like he’s completely untouchable, that is unfortunately not the case. Jay’s intangibility has a major weakness: he needs to be tangible to stand on the ground. As he runs through the forest, he has to keep switching his tangibility on and off every step he takes, which is all that’s needed for one Suicide Squad member to send a bullet right through his foot.
President Nakamura was assassinated by Waller and the Suicide Squad inSuicide Squad: Dream Team#2 by Nicole Maines, Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira, Adriano Lucas, and Becca Carey.

Jay Nakamura’s Phasing Power Made Him Nearly Unstoppable

Jay Nakamura’s power is surprisingly effective. While it has no real offensive capability,Jay’s power to turn intangible is about as powerful as a defensive ability can be. When the Kent farm was obliterated by Henry Bendix’s forces duringSuperman: Son of Kal-El, Jay was left completely unharmed despite being right in the middle of the blast. It seemed like Jay was completely invincible to anyone who might try to harm him, but intangibility has always had this weakness in the DC Universe, and it’s been seen before.
Jay Nakamura’s official superhero name is Gossamer!
DuringBatman / The Flash: The Button, Batman ends up facing Reverse-Flash, one of the most dangerous villains in the DC Universe. With Reverse-Flash’s speed, he can render himself intangible as well, which made it completely impossible for Batman to hit Thawne. But being the world’s greatest detective,Batman correctly reasoned that if Reverse-Flash was standing in front of him, then he couldn’t be entirely intangible. With this in mind,Batman quickly drove a batarangthrough Eobard’s foot. The Suicide Squad uses a similar strategy against Jay in theAbsolute Power: Ground Zeropreview.
