Peacemaker star picks surprising actor to play the DCU’s Batman

The DCU still hasn’t found its Batman, but if one star ofPeacemaker Season 2gets her way, it’ll be another British actor who dons the cowl.

UnlessRobert Pattinson’s caped crusader merges with the DCU, another actor will playBatmanin James Gunn’sDCU. That means there will be two Batmen; one will be part of the mainline universe, while Pattinson’s version will be an ‘Elseworlds’ character.

However, we still aren’t any closer to finding out who’ll take on the role. Social media would have you believe that 1923 starBrandon Sklenaris the top pick (bolstered by Gunn saying he’d been watching 1923 recently), but as far as Gunn has said, there isn’t a frontrunner.

So,who should be the DCU’s Batman? There are plenty of fan casts online, but Peacemaker star Sol Rodríguez (Sasha Bordeaux) has one you may not have considered.

Peacemaker star wants Harris Dickinson as DCU Batman

In an interview withThe Movie Dweeb, Rodríguez was asked to pick who should play Batman in the DCU, given that Sasha Bordeaux is Bruce Wayne’s bodyguard in the comics.

“There’s this actor… he’s a co-star of Nicole Kidman in Babygirl,” she said. “Harris Dickinson! I think he’d be a great Batman!”

As well as Babygirl, in which he played an intern who has an affair with his company’s CEO, he’s also starred in The King’s Man, Triangle of Sadness (which was nominated for Best Picture), and he appeared alongside Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White as one of the Von Erich brothers in 2023’s The Iron Claw.

Dickinson has often been floated as a contender for thenext James Bond; he’s 29, his filmography has several acclaimed projects, and excluding The King’s Man, he’s yet to star in a big franchise film.

The Suicide Squad is canon to the DCU but there’s a big catch

He’s set to portray John Lennon in Sam Mendes’ four-part Beatles biopic, but given that a script has yet to be turned in for The Brave and the Bold, there’s room for Batman on his calendar.

Just don’t expect any news about Batman soon, though. Speaking toRolling Stoneearlier this summer, Gunn said: “Batman’s my biggest issue in all of DC right now, personally.

“And it’s not – I’m not writing Batman, but I am working with the writer of Batman and trying to get it right, because he’s incredibly important to DC, as is Wonder Woman.

“So outside of the stuff that I’m doing in the projects that are actively going, our two priorities are finishing our Wonder Woman and our Batman scripts.”

He also said he’s “very involved” in the development of The Brave and the Bold, but it’s unclear if Andy Muschietti is still attached to direct.
