Overwatch 2 locks in Bastion nerfs & rules out changes to “frustrating” Orisa
The Overwatch 2 developers have confirmed yet another Bastion nerf to weaken the Omnic’s powerful damage, but they aren’t too keen on more balance changes to Orisa just yet.
More nerfs are on the way to some of Overwatch 2’s heroes as the devs continue to scale back changes made to beef up some of the game’s cast after making themtoo strong.

The OW2 mid-season patch is set to arrive soon and the developers have already started teasing what’s in store, confirming bignerfs to almost every supportand one troublesome member of the DPS cast.
Bastion has been tearing up the Overwatch 2 ranked ladder for quite a while now thanks to an assortment of buffs that are slowly being tuned back after community demand. Interestingly, however, that same demand for Orisa nerfs isn’t being treated the same.

Overwatch 2 team confirm Bastion nerfs, but won’t touch Orisa yet
In a recentDirector’s Take blogfrom Aaron Keller, the developer chimed in on feedback that Orisa and Bastion were in dire need of additional changes.
“We’re also seeing a lot of talk around Orisa, Zarya, and Bastion,” he wrote, confirming that a “slight nerf” would be coming to Bastion’s Assault form in the midseason patch.

However, Keller revealed that Orisa’s stats don’t justify a nerf at the moment, explaining that in lower ranks,Reinhardtis the top-performing tank while Sigma dominates at high ELOs.
Keller suspects that players are instead finding Orisa “frustrating to play against,” but noted how the tank isn’t giving her team the same value as other tank heroes after hertweaks to kick off Season 7.

That said, the director did say that they’re monitoring Orisa and are taking a “wait-and-see” approach, so don’t expect any balance changes to her kit until at least the start of Season 8.
