MrBeast, Adin Ross, xQc break Guinness World Record by raising $12M for TeamWater

MrBeast, Adin Ross, and xQc have broken the Guinness World Record for most money raised for charity in a single live stream.

Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson teamed up with fellow YouTuber Mark Rober earlier in August tolaunch TeamWaterin an attempt to raise $40M by the end of August.

That deadline is coming quickly, and MrBeast joined up with Adin Ross and xQc foran August 14 live stream on Kickthat couldn’t end until they reached a specific goal.

It started as an attempt to raise $5M, but was quickly increased to $12M after hitting the original goal early on. On August 15, that goal was reached.

After reaching $11,500,000, Airbnb co-founder Brian Chesky reached out to MrBeast on the phone to announce that the company is donating $500,000 to Team Water. With that, they were able to reach the $12M goal.

xQc shared the news on X: “This went way bigger than we anticipated but we got it done. $12,000,000 raised for charity. Major thanks to everyone who showed up, watched, donated, participated, produced etc. Looking forward to seeing someone beat this record”

This helped them break the world record, which was previously held byZ Event in 2021. Hosted by Twitch streamers ZeratoR and Dach, Z Event is a project that brings French-speaking streamers together in order to raise funds for various causes.

During the 2021 event, they raised $11,972,930.19 from October 29 to October 31.

It’ll take some time before GWR updates the page with the Kick stream’s accomplishment. It’s not the first record Donaldson has won over the years, though, as hebrought home almost 50 after filming Beast Games for Amazon Prime.
