Summary

It’s no doubt impressive when someone is able to toppleElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree’s final boss by successfully avoiding all their attacks butwhat’s even more staggering is a player claiming victory without dodging once. Thanks to the sheer variety of armor, weapons, and items inElden Ring, users are encouraged to think outside the box when it comes to building up their Tarnished. Many may elect to spec into a character who’s better at precision moves and quick escapes, but the opposite is just as potent.

With some quick healing and more than a few close calls, they take even the most brutal of attacks with barely a flinch, only getting knocked to the ground once. What’s perhaps most impressive is that they manage to survive Radahn’s all-powerful Holy Meteor Attackwhich is largely negated thanks to the speedy equipping of a Golden Braid Talisman.

Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree’s Community Is Working Together Against Brutal Difficulty

Elden Ring DLC players are begging for help - and some of them are getting it, thanks to one overlooked mechanic. But its actual usefulness varies.

Defeating Radahn Without Dodging Isn’t Impossible

But Rolling Away From Damage Is Still Easier

To achieve their super tanky build,Recjawjind_fmfb makes ample use of the Ash of War: Endure item that allows the player to raise their poise and negate incoming damage. It can be a tricky move to perfect given the precise nature of the item but when used correctly, the results speak for themselves. The use of the double Nagakibasequipped with Bleed ensures Recjawjind_fmfb is able tochip away at Radahn’s health quicklyand with minimal commitment to their attacks.

One of the other notable aspects about Recjawjind_fmfb’s build is thattheir Tarnished boasts a Scadutree Blessing level of 20, meaning they’ve maxed out the mechanic. ManyElden Ringusers have taken issue with the system, insisting that it shouldn’t be necessary to increase their Blessing to overcomeShadow of the Erdtree’s most challenging encounters. Recjawjind_fmfb demonstrates that exploring the game’s world andgathering Scadutree Fragmentsis the key to claiming victory.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreeplayers struggling to defeat the expansion’s bosses are certainly not alone asmany members of the community are complaining that the DLC is significantly harder than the base game. While many of the enemies may be tougher, FromSoftware was also gracious enough to provide players with more tools to make some of the more brutal sections a little easier.
