The 1.21 update forMinecraftintroduced a new status condition that, if used in combination with passive Allay mobs, can create a nearly infinite source of XP. No complex contraptions or massive farms are needed to exploit a rare interaction that yields a replenishing source of experience. Those looking to afford every enchantment they could want should consider using Infested Allays for their next project.

Before you begin, try tofind Allay mobs by traveling to Pillager Outposts or Woodland Mansionswithin some of thebest seeds forMinecraft. Befriend these small, ghostly creatures andduplicate them by giving them amethyst shards while playing musicfrom a Music Box. Once you have enough of these mobs running around, you can create a farm that generates free XP for your character.

How To Build An Infested Allay Infinite XP Farm In Minecraft

Continuously Injure Trapped Infested Allays

ThisXP farm inMinecraftworks byusing a Potion of Infestation on an Allayandmaking the mob constantly take damage. Those afflicted with the"Infested"status conditionhave a chance tospawn silverfish mobs whenever they are hurt, which can then be killed for small amounts of XP. By setting up a trap that hurts an Allay over and over, you can consistently trigger silverfish to spawn as free sources of experience.

To understand this farm better, you have to understand Allay mobs and how they interact with the sandbox.Allays are hurt by being underwater, or from typical sources of danger, such as suffocating in Sand or Gravel blocks. While most mobs in these situations would die after a short time,Allays regenerate their health extremely quickly, allowing them to survive the slow damage built up by these circumstances.

Minecraft Infested Allay Infinite XP Farm using spawned silverfish from Potion of Infestation and constantly damaged trapped Allay mob

If you are not sure how this farm works, check out the video below by YouTube creatorSimplySarc, who showcases the possible relationship between Allay mobs, the Potion of Infestation, and XP.

You need to create a controlled environment wherean Allay mob is trapped under a block or forcibly submerged underwaterto start damaging it over time. While this is happening, throw the Potion of Infestation on the mob to inflict it with the status that spawns silverfish. From there, build a moat of lavaoran easy place to strike spawning silverfishto start killing the smaller insects and gain the XP they drop when killed.

Remember to not hit the Allay with any weapons while they are trapped, as they can still die if enough damage is dealt to them. You want the Allay to constantly take damage it can heal from so that it spawns silverfish sporadically. You also want to keep the silverfish from escaping since those mobs are tiny, fast, and oftentimes hard to pin down. Silverfish are, thankfully, very easy to kill with any type of weapon that deals damage.

The amount of XP you get should help your character easily get some of thebest sword enchantmentsor other magical buffs for your strongest items. Once you make an Infested Allay farm inMinecraft, you will quickly develop a source of infinite XP from the defeated silverfish that emerge from the normally passive mob.
