Has Marvel canceled a Disney Plus show? Assembled fate explained
TheMarvelCinematic Universe previously announced plans to scale back its streaming output, and it looks like aDisney Plus showhas been one of those casualties.
In 2023, theMCU had the worst year in its history, dragged down by box office flops like The Marvels and Ant-Man 3, as well as the critically panned Nick Fury series Secret Invasion.

As such, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced plans to reduce its superhero releases, focusing on quality over quantity. Fast forward to 2025 and the future is looking bright for the franchise, withThe Fantastic Four: First Steps, two Avengers movies, andSpider-Man 4on the horizon.
However, one TV show appears to have been quietly canceled: Assembled, Marvel Studios’ anthologydocu-seriesthat takes viewers behind-the-scenes of its movies and TV shows.

Insider says Marvel scrapped Disney Plus’ Assembled series
Following the discovery that bothThunderboltsandCaptain America: Brave New Worldweren’t followed by an Assembled episode, fans have started to question whether it’s been canceled altogether.
According to TVLine insider Matt Webb Mitovich, this appears to be the case. In his latest Inside Line: Scoop series, hesaid, “I love me a Marvel Studios: Assembled episode, too; alas, I’m hearing that there are no new episodes of the Disney+ franchise planned at this time.”

One viewer pointed out that there didn’t appear to be an episode forAgatha All Along– but it did go ahead, just not onDisneyPlus. You can watch the full documentary on YouTube.
Assembled has been running since 2021, offering in-depth examinations on MCU titles. Typically, they release on thestreaming service, but they have been inexplicably halted for recent titles.

There’s no official line from either Marvel or Disney as of yet, but the news that it’s likely been canceled has proven disappointing for the fans. One wrote, “NOOOOOOOO! I love those!

Why Marvel is skipping Comic-Con this year
“Couldn’t figure out why the one for Agatha All Along never released, only to find it was only released on YouTube (and it’s GREAT!) and always look forward to watching these.
“They are so well-produced and provide such great insight without feeling like movie marketing being jammed into my eyeballs.
“The enthusiasm for the projects is so well-presented on both sides of the camera, that even when the project is bad (Secret Invasion – not even going to fake a cough) the Assembled doc helped redeem it.”
Another said, “They probably don’t want to pay anyone to do anything with them if they’re not continuing the series. I hate this penny pinching.
“I hope Marvel and all the studios soon realize we WANT behind the scenes stuff, we want to see the work that goes into these productions.”
