Game of Thrones War for Westeros cinematic

While we didn’t get even a snippet of proper gameplay, a cinematic trailer gave us a taste of what’s to come when the game releases on PC in 2026.

Much like other real-time strategy games such as StarCraft or Age of Empires, we’ll be pitting the various nations of Westeros against one another. You can take control of the White Walker army – even morphing slain icons to join your undead legion – or charge right into battle on horseback as Jaime Lannister. Character models appear entirely faithful to the live-action HBO series.

Gamescom how to watch

War for Westeros, being developed by Australia’s PlaySide Studios, is described as a “classic” feeling RTS with multiple forms of warfare on offer.

At launch, it appears four forces will be available to command and do battle with. According to a press release, House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen, and the Night King’s undead army can all be thrown into the mix.

Of course, it’s entirely likely additional characters and their respective battalions will be added post-launch. We certainly need some House Bolton representation to get really nasty.

you may play solo against AI-operated armies or engage in multiplayer free-for-alls, with each player leading their own faction.
