Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 live eventkicked off on July 01, 2025, in-game at 2 PM ET. As rumored, it unleashed Pandora’s Box to kickstart the events leading up to the new season that willdrop on August 16.

What happened in the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 live event?
The August 10 live event began with sounds of sirens howling across the Wasteland biome and Nitro-Fuel transported along a pipeline between Redline Rig and Brutal Beachhead. This is to fuel up Megalo Don’s Shark Ship so he can wreck the entire island according to his plan.
Shortly we hear Megalo Don talking to the loopers and saying, “Your fate is sealed Wastelanders, enjoy your unhappy ending…” Once the fuel reaches the latter area, someone is seen hacking into the pipeline.
Naturally, such tampering results in the pipeline becoming overloaded, which leads to Redline Rig going up in flames. The explosion destroys one-half of the Redline Rig POI and also unleashes Pandora’s Box partway out of the ground.
Notably, it’s revealed thatDoctor Doom hacked the pipeline. Event lore shared byFortnite account Akosuggests Doctor Doom, who’d been seen as The Wanderer, betrayed Season 3 villain Megalo Don.

Shortly after, theofficial Fortnite X accountalso released a teaser with a green image with the text “To be continued”, alongside a caption that said, “Those who wander are not lost. Destruction brings powerful beings.” The post confirmed the upcoming Marvel theme in the next season with strong hints towards Doctor Doom causing all the chaos.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 Pandora’s Box location
Pandora’s Box has returned from the ground where it was submerged towards the finale of Chapter 5 Season 2’s live event. It now sits lodged in a crafter full of lavaat the Redline Rig POI.
In the previous season, Pandora’s Box played a crucial role in unleashing the apocalypse orchestrated by Hades and turning the island into the Wasteland.
Now Doom has once again unshackled the world-ending entity to control it and possibly let loose an apocalypse whose scale could culminate in dire consequences for Fortnite Island.
How to attend the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 live event
The live event has since concluded but players were able tolog into the Chapter 5 Season 3 Battle Royale Island in a Builds or Zero Buildmatchmaking lobby 30 minutes before the event starts. This allowed them to experience the event in real time.
Though the event has passed, users can still join the fun as the Redline Rig POI and Pandora’s Box changes will likely remain in place until Season 3 ends on August 16.
