Summary

Fallout 4’s take on the Commonwealth and the Wasteland is filled with unimaginable post-apocalyptic horrors butplayers often forgot that one of the most deadly is the humble automobile. Since the majority of the RPG is set within the crumbling ruins of Boston, it stands to reason that the Sole Survivor comes across dozens of abandoned vehicles as they trek down the various streets and highways. Those cars aren’t just set dressing though as a veteran of the series can tell anyone that they can be a potent weapon, but that goes both ways.

It’s no doubt a fun if somewhat frustrating bug that was likely caused by the vehicle’s already glitched position which sees it clipped inside of a sign post.

Fallout’s Cars Take Many Players By Surprise

Remeber: Always Look Both Ways

Many newcomers toFalloutare after taken aback by the game’s retrofuturistic vehicles, especially given how deadly they can be. Largely due to the atomic engine fitting under the hood, many fresh players have been left stunned when a stray bullet accidentally causes a car to explodewith theforce of a mini nuclear explosion. Standing too close to one of these detonations will likely result in a quick death but a veteran of the franchise knows how to turn a highway into a strategic killbox to bring down even the toughest foes.

Because the Boston area is so dense and littered withSuper Mutants and Raiders,it’s often possible to lead enemies away from their base of operations into a parking lotor similar structure that contains several vehicles. With some patience and a decent aim, these powerful cars can usually be triggered to explode right next to an enemy, resulting in a far less dangerous pile of ash. Just be warned that chain reactions are very possible and can often turn a great tactic into soured plan.

WhileFallout 4may be littered with explosive cars it’s certainly rare to see them kill a player without any kind of detonation.Having a glitch that results in a car landing a “round house kick” is uncommonbutgiven the buggy nature of Bethesda’s games, it’s not exactly unexpected. Just goes to show that even the most mundane objects can turn deadly in the Wasteland.
